October 29th, 2025 - Japan Arc Day 5: Akihabara & Shinjuku

I started the day as all days should, with Chainsaw man. I remember the first time I watched and read CSM I didn’t cry for Himmy. She was in and out of the story so quick I couldn’t really form a bond with her. But the anime really pays so much time to her, and this time around? I wept for the girl. We left the hotel before I could finish the series. A quick stop off at the breakfast buffet and then we hopped on a train to Akihabara.

The train system in Japan is so goated, everything runs smoothly and on time, the wait is only 5 minutes if you miss your train. Ugh! We got to Akihabara, as soon as we got out of the station there it was! TAMASHII NATIONS TOKYO store. On one side was all Ultraman and the other was what I was looking for. They didn’t have Gojo or Shikamaru or Ichigo Dual Weilder, but I still managed to pick up $400 worth of product.

We went to the cat cafe!!! Now- I thought it’d be a cafe for humans with cats. Though upon actually experiencing it, it felt more like a cafe for cats with humans. It starts with an entrance fee that comes with a drink, then you put your stuff in their lockers, take your shoes off and get some slippers. Then you get to go into the cafe and pet the kitties. Again, I thought we’d sit down at a cafe and eat with cats around us but if you wanted to order anything you’d be feeding it to the cats. And then all the kitties were sleepy?? I’m glad. I went but the experience wasn’t worth the price.

Now, at this point we are STARVING. We’ve already passed a trillion maids on the way to the cat cafe, and at this point we were des-per-ate. Freya picked up a flier from a maid and convinced our mom to go. Hehehehe, did I want to go? Yea kinda, but using freya as an excuse to go “I guess we have to go” is true ingenious.

The maid cafe was so cute!! There was an aura of degeneracy with going but I think it was more wholesome than it lets on. We ordered a combo which came with a meal, a drink, a dessert, a souvenir and a photo op. I got Omurice!! The maid drew her lil kitty on the omelet and then we used our Moe moe que to make the food taste better. It was aight, I enjoyed it but it was aight- I MEAN-! THE BEST MEAL OF MY LIFE!!!

We got our pictures before dessert. It didn’t look like a lot of food on the menu but I entered the cafe starved and left stuffed. I got my Polaroid with the maid I thought was cute and then ate our dessert and we were out. Oh! One of the maids did a performance, a la singing and dancing on stage while we cheered and ate. Was fun! Mahal, but I think the experience makes it worth it. We dipped from the maid cafe and headed back to the station.

I got my stations mixed up, I thought I could hit all 4 of my stops at the same place, I forgot we had to go to Shinjuku after this. We got on a rapid train to Shinjuku and this mf (my brother) could not wait the two stops in o pee. We had to get off a stop before Shinjuku so this guy could urinate. Meanwhile the place we got off requires you to exit the train area to use the restrooms so this guy had to jump the ticket scanner, and then when he got back he started getting worried about getting in trouble with the law. Like, my brother in Christ you already did it once; don’t go growing a conscience the second time around.

We got to Shinjuku and man I don’t know nothing about the trains. It feels like we’re that Exit 8 horror game, everything looks the same. It feels like we’re in the catacombs, an underground labyrinth. However- finally we made it out. I want to check out the Uniqlo first but it was already dark out. I had missed my window of daylight. AGHHHHH, it would have to do. I got as many pics as possible at the haunted location of Geto and Gojos breakup KFC and then bought a bunch at Uniqlo.

Logan got his haircut and madre was supposed to get her hair died but we couldn’t find a spot. We started heading back to the trains and then to the hotel. We picked up Starbucks and Lawsons before getting to our rooms. After that I unpacked all my figures. I thought Okarun would be my standout but Deku? Ho-ly shieet. Brother is a different beast entirely. He’s so much fun to pose. Even the props were fun to play around with. It hit eleven and I was wiped, I got through half a Gen V episode before calling it quits and wiping out.
