August 26th, 2025 - Camp Pt. 3

I woke up to an unusual message. My boss kindly let me know that she’s interested in hiring Drez. I have no idea what kind of hell I’m walking into tomorrow. That is the fastest turn around I have ever seen. I hope everything is alright. At the same time, hell yeah dude. Get that Italian out of there.

It’s check out day!! We took the tarp down and helped clean up the place. I felt bad because freya used up the last of our kindling for her marshmallows. I bought more firewood for everyone and the kids got to enjoy the embers of our time here. It was a good “weekend” I had a good time. It was nice to have no real objectives. Weird, cool. Though I have to say that a part of me is less than thrilled about being away from the rest of my life especially when I just got it back. I made burgers directly on the fire while Nic used an air pump like a billow to help me cook. I packed them for the road. The kids got ice cream just before we left and then it was over.

We headed out, at first in a convoy. We lasted maybe 2/3s of the way before the Foch Segovia’s had to veer off. I followed Tito Chris for a while before I lost him after Niagara. I spent a lot of the drive making it back to him but when I finally did, it was my turn to veer off. I took 9th line all the way home. In a weird way it was like I had just come from work. It was 4:30. I’m sure if I turned right instead of left some semblance of my work life would greet me.

We made it home, I had the kids unpack and I eventually took a shower. I spent most of the afternoon / early evening cleaning up the past few days. I took everyone’s advice into consideration. I needed to upcharge. I’m too kind (and apparently too humble). I’m too eager to eat the cost at my expense, sharing a load is half the burden. I charged $150 per person. I hope, even now after up charging, I hope that’s enough to cover it all. I need to start getting everything physically ready. The car layouts are set, the menu is planned. I think- THINK- we should be good.

I saw the first episode of peacemaker! It’s fun! Most of it is just set up. Introducing us to where are characters have been since we last saw them, what the central conflict of this next season will be. I think L said it’s very “the boys” coded. I agree- I’m- I’m not completely on board. Maxwell lord said white rabbit had a cameltoe… hmm. I saw people complaining about Gunns humour, I’ve never seen it before, that one got me. We’ll see how the rest of the season goes.

I also saw Dandadans newest episode. Not a jaw dropper but the visuals and audio go crazy. I loved the black and white with colour accents. And the teaser for Evil Eye vs Okarun was gold.

I was going to watch My Dress up Peak but I’m tired. I just wanna make sure I get my thoughts down and go to bed. I think I told you I auditioned for Scary Movie 6? I have an open- uhhh, an open casting? Thing? Tomorrow on zoom. Wish me luck! And especially wish me luck that it doesn’t interfere with the rest of my plans. 😮‍💨 I can’t really take time off work right now. Please let it all work. Let all the puzzle pieces fit.
